Bach Brandenburg Concerto No.3 in G major, BWV 1048 Michael Haydn Violin Concerto in A Major (this is a change from the previously listed Boccherini Violin Concerto in D) Puccini I Crisantemi Mozart Symphony No.40 in G minor, K.550
The atmospheric splendour of Clonard Monastery’s Church of the Most Holy Redeemer lends a special magic to this concert directed by Tamás Kocsis, who is also the soloist in Boccherini’s delightful concerto.
With two contrasting works for strings – the Baroque brilliance of Bach and the Romantic sensuousness of Puccini – the concert ends with, perhaps, Mozart’s best–known symphony.
