Mendelssohn’s overture, written when he was in his teens, is full of youthful exuberance and kicks off an evening of well–loved music.

Soloist Julian Bliss still has youth on his side too, but his performances are always full of maturity and understanding, just what Mozart’s masterpiece requires.

After some more Classical elegance in Mozart’s string serenade, the evening is rounded off by Tchaikovsky’s dramatic depiction of the most famous young star–crossed lovers in literature.
