| Nursery/ KS1/ KS2/ Special Needs Big Bad Bass – the Orchestra’s double bass trio – now in its 24th year, is keen to bring lots of musical fun to your children. Helen Glynn, Michelle Strong & Ricky Matson have devised two exciting shows. Choose from Big Bad Bass on the Farm singing Old McDonald, Dangle Scarecrow and the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff OR Big Bad Bass on the Beach, singing Sea Shanties, dancing the hornpipe the story of The Clumsy Crab |

| KS3/ GCSE/ AS/ A2 Elektra – the Orchestra’s electric string quartet – explores the differences in sound production between acoustic and electric instruments, the use of effects and enhancements and the technical difficulties of using amplified sounds |

| KS3/ GCSE/ AS/ A2 An entertaining introduction to popular classics given by the Ireland String Quartet (2 violins, viola & double bass) |

| FS/KS1/ KS2 What does it sound like? When have I heard it before? How does it work? With the use of some modern technology, Nigel Ireland & Gareth Hopkins – violin & double bass – perform popular tunes, TV themes and pop songs introducing and demonstrating members of the string family – violin, viola, cello, double bass, mandolin & guitar |
| FS/KS1/ KS2 Meet an endangered instrument! The viola hides in the middle of the string section and doesn’t often come out into the open. When it does, its sound will surprise you – sometimes sad and sometimes loud and frightening. Join Ruth Bebb and 3 other viola’s with lots of images and plenty of music from film and TV including ABBA and the theme music from Pirates of the Caribbean. |
